Having performed in a variety of genres, including classical,
musical theatre, and jazz, she knows firsthand that having a solid technique is the foundation for any type of singing.
Ann helps the students create the confidence necessary to prepare for upcoming auditions and performances.
She is past president and a member of the Music Teachers Association of
California, and offers students the opportunity to participate in programs such as Certificate of Merit and Voce.
Ms. Grennan earned her Bachelor of Music Degree from California State
University, Northridge. Her other professional affiliations include the National Association of Teachers of Singing
(NATS) and Mu Phi Epsilon.
Ann has performed jazz at
the Lighthouse, the Skyroom, Café del Rey, and Lido Restaurant. She has soloed with the Peninsula Symphony and
the Carson Symphony. Her operetta roles include Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore, Casilda in the Gondoliers, and Angelina
in Trial by Jury. Among her musical theatre credits are the roles of Maria in West Side Story, Marian in The Music Man,
Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Fiona in Brigadoon, and Janet in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. She has also traveled extensively
with the Santa Monica Playhouse in original works. Her two jazz CDs are available on cdbaby.com. Ann currently
performs with Cup of Water, a group dedicated to bringing musical entertainment to the senior community.
