In addition to the mainstream operatic repertoire, Iris has distinguished
herself in the world of Hebrew and Jewish works as well as the highly nuanced world of Spanish song. She has performed
at the Abu Gosh Festival, the Festival of Interpretation of Spanish song in Granada, The Voice of Music
in the Upper Galilee Festival, and Klangspuren Festival among others.
She has worked with such distinguished artists
as Teresa Berganza, Sherrill Milnes and Miguel Zanetti, and performed under the baton of Pierre Boulez during the 2006 Lucerne
Festival, including collaboration with Boulez’ celebrated Ensemble Intercontemporain. Since 2006 Iris serves on the
faculty of the Assisi Music Festival in Italy as vocal coach and accompanist. Iris Malkin is a truly international
artist who has performed widely in concerts and festivals in Israel, Europe, and the United States, and her performances have
been broadcast worldwide.
Iris
is teaching both voice and piano and is also highly in demand as a vocal coach and accompanist. Her teaching experience includes
such institutes as The Jerusalem Music Center in Israel, The Assisi Music Festival in Italy, and the VOICExperience Foundation
in Florida. Iris enjoys very much sharing her love of music with her students, and believes that making music should first
of all be fun. She encourages her students to bring out the best of them and to find their own special voice.
