An Instrumental Approach to Vocal Improvisation
Offered to singers
and instrumentalists who sing, with a focus on developing improvisational and performance skills, and building jazz repertoire.
Sessions begin with group ear-training, improvisation exercises, and chart arranging followed by individuals working
on their material with the pianist. Every other month, singers have the opportunity to work through their
material in class with a jazz trio (piano, bass, drums).
This unique setting is an opportunity to refine
your skills, explore material and styles, find out what works for you, network with other musicians, and perform in a supportive
environment.
The Workshop is designed
for intermediate to advanced musicians. Basic music skills are a pre-requisite.
