Jennifer
Malenketeaches balance and ease in the voice. She focuses on what each individual needs and molds her
teaching style to make sure each person fully understands the concepts. She focuses on the basics of the voice, and enhances
each individual’s voice to let it be at its fullest potential, which allows every person to embrace their own unique
colors. Her method uses imagery and techniques that go along with the flow of what naturally is already there, instead of
making singing a different thing altogether. Once you learn how to balance the voice and sing healthily, you can sing ANY
style.
Jen
has been teaching since 2000 in Chicago, New York City, as well as Los Angeles, at places such as the Studio New Canaan, Burbank
Music Academy, and the Macy Gray Music Academy, as well as privately. Most recently, she was the vocal instructor for Musical
Theatre West’s Youth Conservatory in Long Beach. She has a BM from Millikin University in Decatur, IL.
Jen has been lucky to have
worked with such people as Stephen Sondheim, James Lapine, Josh Groban, Michael John LaChiusa, and Georgia Stitt, to name
a few. She was seen on Broadway in the Into The Woods revival
with Vanessa Williams. She was most recently seen in ”For the Record: Coen Brothers” at Show at Barre in Los Angeles.
She also recently played Grizabella in Cats for Cats at the Orpheum, a benefit with Fred Willard, Mindy Sterling, Keith David,
Owain Yeoman, and Jean Louisa Kelly. She was seen as Young Belle in MTG’s “Little Me” opposite Jason Graae,
and played Cinderella in “Into the Woods” directed by Calvin Remsberg, starring Anthony Geary.
She
was a judge/vocal coach (series regular) on ABC’s “High School Musical: Get In the Picture” w/ Nick Lachey.

Cold Case, and has done numerous concerts in NY and LA, at places like Joe’s Pub, Upright Cabaret, and Show at Barre.
