Raymond Schnurr has been performing and teaching since 1995.  Having taught both in the classroom and in private studio environments, Raymond believes successful music instruction begins with the student.  He develops a teaching strategy as he understands the student's goals and musical tastes.  This enables the student to enjoy music while learning the important techniques and discipline needed to become an accomplished musician.  Raymond is comfortable teaching all styles of piano and music creation.  Vocal styles include classical, musical theatre and pop.

Raymond's education includes a BA in Theory and Composition from Palm Beach Atlantic University.  Further training includes film scoring at UCLA, where he studied under accomplished composers such as Lee Sanders, composer for Amazing Race, and Robert Drasnin, composer for Twilight Zone - original series.  Raymond also studied orchestration with Steven Scott Smalley, award-winning orchestrator for Batman, Mission Impossible, and other well known movies.

Raymond is also an experienced film composer, music producer, orchestrator and session conductor, working for many prestigious companies, including Warner Brothers, Endemol, HBO and Walt Disney Pictures.  In addition, Raymond has taken his work to recognized venues like the Hollywood Bowl.  He has worked in nearly every aspect of the film music industry:  orchestration, music preparation, conducting, and more.  He proficiently composes in all musical genres, with an emphasis in orchestral, electonica, and orchestral hybrid styles.
